Racing Engines

All racing engines are not created equal. Some fit into stock car racers, some into funny cars, and still others into pickups and formula racing vehicles. Some engines have tightly controlled regulations for everything from volume to head size; others are subject to little or no regulation.

The aims for racing engines are also different depending on the genre of racing.  For example, a drag racer is designed for maximum acceleration and top speed. The engine is by far the largest in any of the racing types, with few restrictions on it. Top end drag racers don’t even burn fuel that your car could use.

The opposite end of the spectrum is street legal and rally style racing. The racing engines for these types of races have to conform to all of the local and national regulations of the area the race is held in. The most stringent restrictions are usually the gas mileage and exhaust requirements.
