Car Racing Parts

Car racing parts are parts that are intended for maximum performance. They don’t necessarily worry about the legality of their parts. The ‘necessarily’ is thrown in because racing parts to need to conform to the standards of the leagues they are produced for; but they don’t need to comply with federal guidelines for street legal vehicles.

One notable exception to the league but not national standard rule is rally racing. In a rally style race, the course is a series of races from point A to point B, rather than a series of laps around a track. The other catch is that a rally car must be driven from stage to stage in a rally race. This means that the car itself must be street legal, which limits the car racing parts that you can put on a rally car.

For example, a drag racer doesn’t even run on gasoline, but a rally car must be able to run on a federally approved fuel. A formula car usually sports magnesium alloy wheels, but a rally car can’t have car racing parts like that that aren’t street legal. The primary limitations for street legality are fuel efficiency and exhaust related, but both of those constrictions cut into the power of a vehicle.
